Nearly 17 million public school students in the U.S. lack adequate access to high-speed broadband and/or internet devices. In our new video, a ninth grader in rural Oregon and a first grade teacher in urban Maryland share their experiences with the homework gap. We also hear from Wade Henderson, Interim President & CEO of The Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights, on the importance of digital infrastructure.

NSBA is committed to closing the homework gap. We work closely with the Department of Education the Federal Communications Commission to eliminate broadband infrastructure gaps and have urged the Biden administration to prioritize digital equity. Learn more about our efforts and access resources on our homework gap page.
